Still Surviving

well, today was my first day off 'sans cable' and it was GGRRREEAAAAATT. No, really. I was able to get things done around the house, get ready-er (this is my blog so ready-er IS a word) for Christmas, bake a cake (cuz I felt like a snack- yes, Liz, I was dressed appropriately) and just do things. After dinner, Amy and I retired to the living room to watch the last 2 episodes of 'Arrested Development' (Thanks Nick- Annyong). It has been nice. I feel like we are not slaves to the TV clock. Nick and I are thinking about starting a support group for people who want to let go of their cable but find it too difficult. Well people, I am here for you. Take the first step. I urge you. call your local subscriber and just say no. Free yourselves. I assure you, you won't miss much. Ok maybe a race or two but i'm being redundant when I say you won't miss much, eh, Peddles?
Now for those of you who are new to ' An Ox and Red Cat', i must be honest. We are not without TV. Just without cable. All we watch are quality movies or videos without commercial interruption. And no more of this 4-5 hours a night. 1-2 is sufficient. Here is a crazy thought for those of you that know me. Read a book or better yet, play and interact with your chill-uns for those of you that got 'em. Hug them, love them, squeeze them, have fun with them, and occassionally, fart on them cuz after all, they are your kids and that's what good parents do.

.......... Really? They don't? Ok, I'll have to work on that myself but it's just soooooo funny (mwahahahahahaha)

(Sorry to steal your quote Liz, but it worked there.)

I never admitted to, er, I mean, said anything about farting on my kids. You can't prove that.

Did you take pics of the cake? Are you going to post them with the recipe? Ooooh, this is exciting. *sings "I've got another blog to read" * (It's been said that I need to get a life, however documenting the 'mail way' is more excitement than most could possibly handle)

I knew a girl in public school who didn't own a t.v. She didn't fit in with the rest of the girls. We all thought she was weird. Looking back, I now realize that she was the only one who actually had her OWN personality. The rest of us were mimicking t.v shows. We learned what to say and how to act through t.v.

We were assimilated, like the Borg clique. Now if you got that reference, you'd understand my meaning. And if you understood my meaning that means you grew up watching television. It links us all in to one vapid state of mind.

I forgot what I was talking about.
